All Creation Sings
48” x 36” mixed media
on 1.5” gallery wrapped canvas
(framing not included)
The evergreens reminded me of a choir; the flow of the air in the sky and water, a melody. Lastly, red strokes of paint in various places as notes of a song. Perhaps a melody declaring the handiwork of God’s creation?
This scene was first painted on site at a wetland down from my home. I painted on watercolor paper and with watercolor paint, which is my medium of choice painting en plein air. Later, the painting became the subject for this large canvas using textured elements. I arranged the evergreen trees using large bubble wrap and for the forest behind them, meat packaging paper. In the water I used fruit packaging. It seemed to flow from one thought to another, as if it was meant to be.
