Grand Design

$1,440.00

30” x 40” Mixed Media

on 1.5” gallery wrapped canvas

I found myself collecting leaves as I strolled my neighborhood. It had become one of the best times of my day during the quarantine of 2020. It was a time most of us had never experienced.

The trees were changing, but it brought me to a place of meditating how God made everything with order and purpose. He had a design, order and consistency.

“Grand Design” starts at the top with a strip of blue for sky, underpinned by small clusters of color for distant hills. A strip of green for field followed by large pops of color for more Fall trees. The piece continues with lots of movement. White brush strokes with traces of soft blue represent the cool winds of Fall. Leaves imbedded in various ways, though none organic. In the left bottom corner is a remnant from some of the cut out leaves and is what inspired the name of this piece.
