Last of Summer's Flowers

$220.00

Watercolor original 9" x 12" on watercolor paper

Frame and matt not included

This was a setting that invited me to sit down and paint. Light calls to me and pulls my thoughts to a subject. This scene was backlit with an open field and the shade supplied by a Crepe Myrtle. In the shade, a birdbath that brought invitation to wildlife and off to the side some plants and flowers that were hanging on in spite of the late summer heat. I connected with it's inviting presence to sit, enjoy and capture peace and simple beauty.

This year I used this watercolor painting to create "Shade" a large canvas painting where the little potted plants are prosperously in bloom! Check it out on my website under the Garden page and under the Prints page.
