Potted Posies
12” x 24” Acrylic Collage on 1.5” gallery wrap canvas
The posies are the collage element in this painting. I have used varying shades and values of yellow torn from palette papers. The inspiration for this was taken from the process of other palette designed paintings of mine, particularly “Three Piece Bouquet” that was developed with a bright orange background and the multiple colors of a fresh cut bouquet.
As a teen, I worked several years in a local florist on Saturdays. Potted plants and cut flowers were a pleasure to sell. It was a highlight in my adolescent years as well as being able to be with my Mom who was their bookkeeper who worked in the tiny office just to the side of the front counter.
