Spring Trees
36” x 24” Acrylic painting on 1.5” gallery wrapped canvas
Three small spring trees were barely in bloom as I sat across from them. They were part of the setting beside a pond I have painted many times. The wind was gusty and the bugs were biting, but not the fish that day as David threw out his line into the pond. The beginnings of this large canvas painting was painted en plein air that day with watercolor paints on paper, then on a small canvas in my studio using acrylics and collage elements. Lastly, I decided to paint the subject on this large canvas.
